Our Mission:

Ocala School of Discipleship exists to disciple students into a lifelong relationship devoted to Jesus regardless of occupation and to develop the gifts and abilities imparted by the Holy Spirit within students to walk in obedience to the calling placed on their lives.

Who We Are

Ocala School of Discipleship is an online instructional site of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) at Ocala First Assembly which provides leadership training through an internship program and the completion of an accredited college degree.

Daily Class Time

Students will have time to work on their classes each day on site. They’ll have access to Grammarly, Blackboard, online tutoring, and other resources provided by SAGU.

We believe that the college experience and a ministry internship go hand-in-hand. Students have the opportunity to pursue their degree through our academic provider, SAGU, which offers degree programs at the partnership price to Ocala School of Discipleship. SAGU’s degree programs are designed to equip students with the tools they need to succeed as ministry and workplace leaders.

SAGU is a regionally accredited, private, four year university. For more information about SAGU’s accreditation, click here: SAGU's Accreditation

Ministry Opportunities

Students will have interaction with multiple credentialed pastors of the Assemblies of God weekly and have opportunities to serve in their degree focus area. There will also be opportunities to be poured into outside of Sunday morning and Wednesday night gatherings.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Luke 10:2 (ESV)

FAQs

What does day to day look like?

There is class time scheduled each day to allow students to stay on top of school work as well as be available for on-site ministry training.

What is included in the site fee?

The site fee helps cover lunch on-site each day students are expected to be in class as well as various trips that students are required to attend. This also helps cover housing if a student is out of area.

Why do I need a background check?

Another ministry of Ocala First Assembly is our school that includes infant care, pre-school, VPK, and K-12 instruction. In compliance with the state of Florida, all adults are required to complete a background check in order to protect the students we serve on campus. If this is a concern, please contact our site director, Pastor Nathan Bradberry.

What if I’m wanting to get a degree and I don’t fit the typical college mold?

We do have a non-traditional track available for adults that are already working full-time jobs that want to pursue a degree. This track will look different than our main program and will be individualized. Please make sure to contact our site director, Pastor Nathan Bradberry, if this is the track you are interested in.

Ocala School of Discipleship is not accredited by SACS Commission on Colleges and the accreditation of SAGU does not extend to or Ocala School of Discipleship or its students.
